Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl will join Queens of the Stone Age for their new album, according to multiple reports.

QOTSA singer Josh Homme told BBC’s Radio One that Grohl will be drumming on their sixth studio album. The band also posted a photo on Facebook of a mixing board, with the name “Dave” written above the word “drums.”

Grohl, who previously drummed for the band on their 2000 album Songs for the Deaf, will replace Joey Castillo. It’s not yet known if Grohl will be playing any live shows with QOTSA.

Homme and Grohl have also performed together in the supergroup Them Crooked Vultures, which includes John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin on bass.

Grohl began his career with Nirvana and founded the Foo Fighters in 1994 after Kurt Cobain’s death.

The Foo Fighters released their seventh studio album in 2011. Rumours of the band’s retirement began during their most recent tour.

While performing at England’s Reading Festival, Grohl told the crowd, “this is the last show for a long time.”

At a show in New York City, Grohl said, “we don’t have any shows after this.”
